SINGING WITH MIND BODY AND SOUL

SINGING WITH MIND BODY AND SOUL In this section you will learn about stagecraft: how to sing with a band, how to memorise lyrics, how to combat stagefright. The key throughout is to remember why you started in the first place: because you love singing. While there are many different tricks and techniques, there are few hard-and-fast rules. So once you have an understanding of the technical side of performing, it's imperative you watch others perform, noting which elements you like and which you dislike. You can then try some of those things out in the company of friends and family. Singing on stage When you're singing on stage, you're not only combining language and music - you've also got to deal with spatial awareness and be aware of the people around you. There's a lot going on, so watch the conductor if there is one. Enjoy the feeling of being on stage, look around you in rehearsals to get used to the size of the performance space and think how...

Becoming a Background Singer

BECOMING A BACKGROUND SINGER Career Description   The B ackground Singer provides backup to other Singers and musicians in recordings, commercial jingles, or live performances. Background Singers can be employed by a group, or they may freelance. Those working as freelance Vocalists go about their business in a slightly different way. Specifically, they must build up a strong reputation as a great singer who is flexible and available when they are needed. Being a Background Singer requires irregular hours, but these usually are not extreme every single day. The Background Singer must also be able to harmonize with a group of Singers with whom he has never before worked. Being versatile is a must, because they may have to perform different styles of music througho...

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU HAVE A TYRE BLOWOUT

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU HAVE A TYRE BLOWOUT In the event of the unfortunate death of Nigeria's minister of state for labour due to an accident occasioned by a tyre blowout and the fact that in Nigeria now-a-days, we have many untrained drivers, it has become pertinent for me to write this. There are 6 simple steps to take within a maximum of 2 minutes and you will be safe, these by the grace of God I have been familiar with for decades. They are as follow: (1) DON'T PANIC in the event of a blowout, calm yourself down fast because your car will start misbehaving and you need to take charge.

How to Find Time for QuietTime (When You Wake Up Late)

I haven’t managed to have quiet time every single day, but I have done it enough to see its impact on my life, to see the significance of His presence in my days. I’ve started to journal my prayers and the Bible verses that God lays on my heart, and I refer to that journal often. My soul is healing. I cry less, a lot less. I am more content, more settled, more peaceful. I want to make quiet time a daily habit , and I’ve Googled a bit on how to do it. Do you know what everyone suggests in order to make this work? They suggest getting up 30 minutes earlier. I have a long list of reasons why that simply will not work for me.
