The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly arrested the Chairman of Africa Independent Television (AIT), Raymond Dokpesi . According to Sahara Reporters, Dokpesi was arrested today, December 1, 2015, in connection with the alleged looting of $2 billion in funds meant for the procurement of arms for Nigeria’s military. The money is said to have been paid to Dokpesi by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on the orders of former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki. Dasuki was also arrested today » by officials of the Department of State Services (DSS). The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has filed six counts charges against media owner Raymond Dokpesi for receiving N2.1billion from the embattled former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki out of the funds meant for the purchase of arms for the Nigerian military. Upon his arrest last week, Dokpesi had admitted to collecting the sum of N2.1billion from the ex-NSA, but claimed the funds were meant for media campaigns of former President Goodluck Jonathan 's 2015 Presidential election, of which he lost to the incumbent, President Muhammadu Buhari.
