HOW I GOT BORN-AGAIN (Salvation Story by  Pastor Joy Amenkhienan)

HOW I GOT BORN-AGAIN (Salvation Story by  Pastor Joy Amenkhienan)
My Name is Pastor Joy Amenkhienan. Am eternally grateful to My Man Of God; Pastor Chris for this opportunity to share my testimony of salvation.
I love you sir. It was in September 1985, my dad had taken me in his car to pay a farewell visit  to my twin sister Jane, who was attending a different higher institution from mine at the time.
Prior to this time she had been Born Again for about six months. On arrival at her campus, i met her on the hallway to her hostel.
She obliged me to follow her to her room so she could tell me about the programme they just had with Pastor Chris. While in her room, i noticed she looked somewhat frail and also tipsy.
While still wondering about her demeanour, she asked the all important question. ''Are you Born Again'' Feeling uneasy and pondering on what to reply, she blurted out ''You must be Born Again'' Since she looked strange, awkward and sounded wierd, i said Yes.
(now on looking back, i know God was in that room reconciling me to Himself that day). I ASKED JESUS TO COME INTO MY HEART.
It was such an awesome experience - i felt like a new ME. Not knowing how much time we had spent on this she urged us to return to the car park outside where my dad had been waiting in the car.
On our way home, dad made a comment, but in my attempt to respond i spoke in tongues. I didn't realise that i got filled with the Holy Spirit immediately i received Jesus as my Lord and Saviour.
My dad wondered at my response because he said ''what language  is that'' Because of this i kept quiet till we got home to avoid speaking repeatedly in tongues. Not long after we got home i took five of my siblings; Peter, Paul, Ewaen, Ota and Sophia who was quite young, and preached to all of them.
They all got saved and filled with the Holy Spirit. When my Mum observed that my activities around the house became unusual, she alerted my dad.
Still full of the Spirit, i went downstairs of our house to lead my aunt (dad's sister) to Christ. But while there, dad came in and with a stern look ordered me to return back upstairs.
Later he invited me to the balcony, and began to ask what happened when we visited my twin sister in her school, pointing out that i had been acting strange since we got back. I don't remember all my dad said, but he wondered at the boldness with which i spoke and the speed of my words.
Then he hushed me and refrained me from talking any more. The next forty-eight hours was horrible as my dad kept the pressure on me to renounce my being born again.
For some reasons i just had the strength  within me to stand my grounds. Then came the day for me to return back to school; my dad vehemently refused to pay my fees, asserting that since i refused to renounce my faith, Jesus will then pay my school fees.
There was much concern about me because, though my twin sister had been born again a while before me, I was more expressive about my new experience by aggressively converting those of my household. By the grace of God, I've been expressive, fervent, exuberant and even flamboyant about my salvation.
. Hallelujah! .

$40b drained from External Reserve in 10 years, says CBN

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has lamented that about $40 billion was depleted from the nation’s external reserves in 10 years due to the taste for imported goods by Nigerians. To stop bleeding  the external reserve, the CBN has urged Nigerians to begin to process raw materials so as to get more value and earn more foreign exchange. According to the CBN governor Mr Godwin Emefiele, “exported raw materials such as crude, wood, cocoa amongst others whose end products are later imported, are being sold cheaply and bought back at more expensive rates.” He said the level of the external reserve will be significantly beefed up if fuel which takes up 20 per cent of Nigeria’s import bill is locally produced. Defending the decision of the CBN to support the real sector, Emefiele said the apex bank “is convinced that the sector has sufficient employment capabilities, high growth potentials, contributes significantly in accretion to foreign reserves, expands the industrial base and divers

BE BLESSED BY THE STORY BEHIND HYMN Higher Ground

Higher Ground Lyrics I’m pressing on the upward way, New heights I’m gaining every day; Still praying as I’m onward bound, “Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.” Lord, lift me up and let me stand, By faith, on Heaven’s tableland, A higher plane than I have found; Lord, plant my feet on higher ground. My heart has no desire to stay Where doubts arise and fears dismay; Though some may dwell where those abound, My prayer, my aim, is higher ground. Lord, lift me up and let me stand, By faith, on Heaven’s tableland, A higher plane than I have found; Lord, plant my feet on higher ground. I want to live above the world, Though Satan’s darts at me are hurled; For faith has caught the joyful sound, The song of saints on higher ground. Lord, lift me up and let me stand, By faith, on Heaven’s tableland, A higher plane than I have found; Lord, plant my feet on higher ground. I want to scale the utmost height And catch a gleam of glory bright; But sti
